Marcus Rashford, a forward for Manchester United, is allegedly fined his entire two-week salary for going out on the night before he was supposed to return to Old Trafford for training.

Marcus Rashford will therefore forfeit £650,000, or his equivalent of two weeks’ salary at the club.

When Rashford claimed to be sick, he was granted time off. Rather than resting during his vacation, he was spotted having fun at a nightclub in Belfast, the biggest city in Ireland. He was then spotted going to an Irish club, where he was supposed to meet up with an old pal.

Erik Ten Hag, the coach of Manchester United, and the entire United board were not pleased with these two developments.

Marcus Rashford was therefore left off of United’s roster for the FA Cup 4th round encounter between Newport County and Manchester United on January 28 at Rodney Parade.

Coach Ten Hag stated prior to the match that Rashford’s illness prevented him from being placed in the starting lineup. However, following the Red Devils’ 2-4 victory, the coach revealed that Rashford was not in the team because of personal problems.

Afterward, the club issued a statement that reads: “Marcus has taken responsibility for his actions”.

“This has been dealt with as an internal disciplinary matter, which is now closed”.

Take note that in his 26 appearances in all competitions this season, club academy product Marcus Rashford has only managed to score four goals and contribute six assists. He has scored four goals for the team in his past five games this season.
