Along with other Super Eagles players, well-known Nigerian football player Victor Osimhen has united against cyberbullying and is ferociously rooting for colleague Alex Iwobi.

The move is a reaction to the outpouring of vitriol directed towards Iwobi after Nigeria’s AFCON final loss to Ivory Coast.

After the loss, Alex Iwobi was the target of a barrage of offensive comments and attacks on social media, which prompted some famous people to stand up for the player.

These celebrities voiced their displeasure with the online harassment and urged critics to quit attacking Iwobi and start supporting the team as a whole.

However, Alex Iwobi was cyberbullied and removed all of the content from his Instagram account as a result of the continual criticism.

Remarkably, the Super Eagles players—including well-known players like Joseph Ayodele-Aribo, Samuel Chukwueze, William Troost-Ekong, and Victor Osimhen—have united to support one another and denounce cyberbullying.

In a message on their social media accounts, they emphasized the value of teamwork, regardless of wins or losses.

“We win together. We lose together. We are all one. Some of our fans should do better. @alexanderiwobi,” the post read.
