On Monday, January 29, the Argentina Football Association (AFA) and the Chinese firm finalized the agreement, and the AFA announced the news almost instantly.

This implies that the players for the Nigeria national team will reassemble around one month following the 2023 AFCON. Presently, in the competition’s quarterfinals, Nigeria will take on Angola on Friday, February 2.

Keep in mind that since 1994, the Super Eagles of Argentina and Nigeria have faced off six times. Argentina won five of six encounters, which took place in the FIFA World Cups in 1994, 2002, 2010, 2014, and 2018.

The Super Eagles’ lone and only tie in a competitive match, 0-0, came against Argentina in the 1995 King Fahd Cup.

But in international friendlies, the Super Eagles have defeated Argentina twice: in Abuja in 2011 and in Krasnodar, Russia, in 2017.
