Claudio Echeverri, an Argentina Under-17 midfielder from River Plate in Argentina, has joined Manchester City.

After Manchester City paid River Plate over £12.5 million, Claudio Echeverri agreed to a four-and-a-half-year contract.

However, the 18-year-old will stay at River Plate through the 2023–2024 season’s conclusion.

Claudio Echeverri had started six games for River Plate before Manchester City finalized the move.

Remember how River Plate and Manchester City inked a similar contract when Argentine prospect Julian Alvarez decided to go with the Premier League team in January 2022?

James Maddison will play against Manchester City in this Friday’s FA Cup match, according to an announcement made by Ange Postecoglou, the manager of Tottenham Hotspur.

Take note that Maddison hasn’t participated in a competitive match for Tottenham Hotspur since November 2023 because of an injury to her ankle.

According to the Australian tactician, Postecoglou, “there aren’t too many in the league that are like” Maddison, as he added that the player’s availability helps the club’s “ability to prepare for the challenges ahead.”

“We have been through a difficult period”, the coach concluded.

Additionally, following a stint on the sidelines owing to varying degrees of ailments, two Tottenham defenders—Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven—are eligible for Friday’s FA Cup matchup with Manchester City.

On Friday, January 26 at 9 p.m., Tottenham Hotspur Stadium will host Spurs and City in the FA Cup fourth-round match.
