Nigerian singer Divine Ikubor, better known by his stage name Rema, recently made a daring statement after being included in the prestigious digital magazine I_D.
Without holding back, the up-and-coming Afrobeat artist declared that his importance on the global Afrobeats scene cannot be disputed.
“No one can deny that I’ve impacted Afrobeats on a global scale,” Rema declared forcefully in the interview, igniting a controversy among fans and industry insiders.
The 22-year-old musician has performed all around the world, notably in India, where a sizable global audience has found his music appealing.
Among his other most amazing achievements was being the first performer to ever take part in the Ballon d’Or award ceremony, a global football event that unites the biggest names in the sport with dignitaries.
Rema’s remarks go beyond flattering remarks about himself; he highlighted his desire to leave a lasting legacy.
