It would be challenging for any other Nigerian filmmaker to surpass the significant milestone that actress and filmmaker Funke Akindele has set.

The movie actress hasn’t hidden from her historic achievement; this month, she became the first Nigerian filmmaker to earn more than $1 billion in the film industry.

A Tribe Called Judah is still the highest-grossing Nigerian film ever, earning nearly N1.4 billion in just ten weeks since its December 15, 2023, premiere. Clearly, a lot of people, both domestically and internationally, have come to love the movie.
