The proud son of George Bankole Wellington (the father) and Momma Wellington, also known as Mrs. Wellington, is Banky W, who was born Olubankole Wellington.

Although his mother is from Calabar in Cross River State, he is originally from Badagry.

On March 27, 1981, Banky W was born in the United States of America rather than Nigeria.

His parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wellington, moved the family to Nigeria five years after he was born.
